VIII International Symposium SRUK/CERU

19th-20th June 2021

Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic

A.C. Clarke

Welcome to the VIII edition of the International Symposium SRUK/CERU webpage!

The underlying theme for this symposium will be the relationship between science and magic. With the theme “Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic“, we aim to reflect how science has evolved in a way that was very difficult to imagine in a not so distant past. The program will include well-known international and Spanish researchers and will cover a variety of topics where research plays a key role. As in previous symposia, there will also be a space for SRUK/CERU members to present their research.

This edition will be the first time the SRUK/CERU Symposium goes virtual, and the organising committee is aware of how tired everyone is feeling about staring at our screens during virtual meetings. For this reason, we are committed to making this event as engaging as possible. All the sessions will be highly interactive with debates, roundtables, and workshops – and well-deserved breaks! In addition, we will have social and networking virtual activities.

In the meantime, stay tuned for more information on our upcoming schedule! You can follow us on Twitter through logo_twitter@ComunidadCeru and the tag logo_twitter#SRUK2021 to catch up with the symposium news, such as registration deadlines or confirmed speakers.

We hope you join us at this event full of interactive activities and exchange of ideas!

If you have further questions, please contact the organising team here.

The final programme of the VIII International Symposium SRUK/CERU is ready and you can check it here (links to activities and speakers provided!). We have also summarised it in the figure below:

You can also download the book abstracts here and you can find out how to use GatherTown, the platform we will be using to host this virtual event, here.

Looking forward to meeting you all!

Previous symposium

Two years ago, we celebrated our VII International Symposium in Liverpool. If you have never attended any of our events and want to have an idea about how they look like, you can visit the past symposium’s website here. We had lots of fun!
